Hi all. Just wanted to relay some fun and games while using myHermes.

I have had 3 incidents over the last 40 days (sent 4 parcels) with issues.

Parcels were sent with correct compensation with SIG required.

Issues with parcels with not being delivered. And just disappearing or one case a window cleaner rightly so refused to accept the parcel as he didn't live there now parcel is AWOL

In all cases myHermes are not compensating and are being very difficult to contact. There is no phone listed and the online chat makes the right noises and leads to nothing.

I have had to refund 2 people so far and am quite out of pocket. If you send items that you require a good reliable service it may be worth noting as this has been quite stressful not to mention expensive.

Letters have been written advice being sought. This is a heads up. The extra few quid to use someone else might be well spent.

Cheers

I've always had issues with Hermes. Not just delivery from me but stuff I'm receiving also. I always just use TNT or CityLink and till now no issues at all.

I'm sure I'll jinx it now, but I've never had an issue with MyHermes. Sent at least 5 parcels with them this year, and received a couple too.

I always make sure to tell the buyer who I'm sending it with and give them a more expensive option - it's rare they pick the more pricey option ;)

Never had any problem with Hermes, been using them for some time now both as a sender and recipient. The thing to remember with Hermes is they use local franchisees for the collection and delivery so the bad experiences some people have may be down to the local franchisee and their lack of company training etc, rather than Hermes as a company. On the flip side, I have had bad experiences with the big names in delivery to, mostly with Parcel Farce but also with DPD and Fedex. Three times I have had parcels delivered and signed for by someone, and left on the doorstep! The name on the proof didn't match up with any of my family or neighbours, any of whom would have signed for and held on to the parcel for me.

So until they let me down I will continue to use Hermes.

I have used Hermes for sending and recieving for quite some time now and never had a problem. I also use iPost and find they good as well.

I have had problems with Hermes. Non-delivery when the tracking showed delivered, incorrect delivery address, even when it is clearly written on the box and they tried three times to pick up from my work, first time the tracking showed picked up (parcel was still in reception) then they said no one was in (the reception is always manned) and the third, they just did not bother - got refunded and sent via TNT. Grrr

I've had nothing but issues with myhermes sending parcels to fellow earlybayers. Non deliveries, items returned, incorrect tracking numbers and broken items. Had to issue two refunds and claim back.

From memory Yodel and Hermes hit the press for poor service e.t.c. - something about new drivers being self employed and having to work for a couple of months without pay, and fined for not hitting drop numbers, so focus was on marking as delivered, rather than actually delivering....

worst I had was Citylink in cambridge - ordered a pair of hella mk3 golf headlamps (mark 4 style - rare and expensive....still have them for sale ;) ), Citylink tried to deliver me an empty box  - someone had slit the tape, nicked the lights and then re-taped the box

The worrying thing was that this happened in their own warehouse, box weighed in correctly to local depot, but weighed out of depot significantly lighter!!!

Find that DPD are really good with their notifications - you can SMS them back to deliver another day, deliver to a neighbour or leave somewhere secure, they also give 1 hour slots and realtime tracking which is fantastic and so much more advanced than royal mail who only track for significant events (in depot, out depot), DPD get my vote

They are the worst by a country mile, i have nothing to do with them. Currently i send out over 100 parcels a day and use DPD i have had about 3 issues in the past 4 years and all have been resolved satisfactory. City link damage everything, tnt are close behind. I also use UPS and have had zero problems but you pay tons extra for them and their little brown uniforms

My wife takes parcels for my Hermes at her village store .The parcel guy has no care about how he stores in the van they are just thrown in there trampled they are all freelance it's all about numbers of drop n pick ups ,but I use them never had a problem.

Tracked it all the way to the local depot...... then gone!

To say I'm pissed is an understatement and to let one of you guys down gutts me even more.

Note (Tracy is my partner and is her account I use).

Hi, my name is Kushal Kotwal. How may I help you?

Tracy Cross: Hi, I was contacted before xmas to be told my parcel 8544470246352785 had been stolen.
Tracy Cross: The parcel status now says it has been delivered! is this the case and has it been found!?

Kushal Kotwal: I am sorry for the inconvenience, but as the claim form has been submitted by you the claims team is investigating this parcel and will contact you if there is any update.

Tracy Cross: Yes, but if you use the parcel number I have provided on the tracking system it now states parcel delivered on the 27th which was a Sunday !? can you confirm that this is the case as it was sent recorded and a signature was required.
Tracy Cross: 8544470246352785: parcel number.

Kushal Kotwal: Yes, as you said the system does show that the parcel was delivered. However, I request you to ignore the scan as it was updated in error.
Kushal Kotwal: I apologize for this.

Tracy Cross: So its still classed as stolen, and not signed for and not delivered?!

Kushal Kotwal: No it is still considered lost, the claims team will continue process the claim as regular.
Kushal Kotwal: If there is an update, you will be contacted by them.

Tracy Cross: Status says 'Stolen' and police contacted!
Tracy Cross: Is there a contact number for the complaits department please?

Kushal Kotwal: You can contact us by calling 0330 333 6556.

Tracy Cross: Where abouts are you/support based please.

Kushal Kotwal: I am sorry but we are not authorized to disclose that information.

Tracy Cross: Very helpful!! (Not)I do hope this conversation is recorded as it was the biggest waist of my time! :-/

On a few occasions these clowns have left parcels behind our front wall, on a street of terraced houseswhere anyone could have spotted/taken them! they fail in my book.
