Grrrr really annoyed

I don't normally name n shame but ...

My bus insurance comes up for renewal, I ring them up and tell them I'm selling it but annoyingly It wasn't going till a week after the renewal.
If I canceled after a week it would cost me £60 +
So they say to me , that's ok take out a New Years insurance and let it run for a few weeks till u get yr new bus then we can transfer the insurance over to your new bus.
I agree , and all is good !
I find my new bus and phone my insurance
The first thing they say is, no can't transfer your insurance to yr new bus the underwriters won't allow it!
£60 please to cancel your insurance thank you

I phone around a few company's to get insurance on a unreg bus and I'm told I have a max of 30 days to get it reg ( which seems standard )
I call my insurance to cancel it because I find something better elsewhere and she said to me , oh we can sort something out for you to give u more time to get it registed!

She goes away and comes back with my quote
The quote is ok and I decide to go ahead , I pay 60 to cancel old insurance ( which they originally told me I wouldn't have to do , said I could transfer new bus to it )
I said I may need longer than 30 days to reg bus, how long do I get?
She said , just as quick as u can
I say not 30 days, she says no just as quick as u can!

I pay up n all is good!
A week later I get a message saying I need to produce a registration grrrrr
After a long phone call telling them ( again ) I'm not yet even in possession of the bus till end of the week she says I can cancel but it will cost me £60, and if I wait till after 14 days it will be the full amount of £180 ( can't rem exactly )

I told the girl to check the recorded phone call from my previous call ( cause they say they record the calls ) and told her they have been deceitful and have not kept there word with any advice or promises that they have told me

I've now got two weeks to get my bus mot and registed ..... Don't think that's gonna happen
I don't even have it yet

Rant over !

Shame on you Adrian flux very disappointed

Sound like something is amiss there ,incompetent is what I was looking for

It's ok I've calmed down now lol!

It's just annoying how I've been charged £60 already for something which they said I could avoid if I took out another years insurance with them , and now they have moved the goal posts regarding the time I have to register my bus, and wonna charge me again for it.
Hey ho live n learn

I know where I won't be insuring my bus next year!

I insured mine and took 18 months to register it, no problem. Can't see why when you can't drive it till it's registered and motd anyway, therefore minimising the risk of a claim.

Adrian Flux are well renowned for being crap!
Try R H Speacialists they are a superb little company that pride themselves on customer service, and you can usually phone them up and ask to speak to the same person you did last time!

As above, RH all the way !
Had a similar experience with Adrian f*cks a few years ago, had my rant on an insurance thread here before. They moved the goalposts on me too and then bent me over for cancellation fees, never again !
P.s half the companies you may get quotes with are really all the same one, including those tossers so it's wise to ask if they're anything to do with A.F

Thanks guys
It's nice to know it's not just me who's had problems with them!
I've got till Monday to decide what I wonna do, stick with them for another year or try someone else. Either way they are gonna sting me for another £60+ no matter what I do
So can't win really! :x

Just a thought,, but why don`t you give them a link to this thread somehow,, might be sobering to hear what is going down out here in the real (ish) world.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,Might do sumfink,,, Might not

Ring them up and speak to a manager. Get them to listen to all your previous calls to them, by law they have to keep call recording for... I think it's 6 months. With yours being so recent I bet they have all yours on file.

If you were explicitly told that you won't have to incur the £60 fee then that last remaining leg they have to stand on looks very shaky.

I wouldn't point them at this thread. You don't want to get in to a mud slinging match and their legal department is much bigger than yours.

Incidentally, you can probably get them to give you some compensation for the cost of the extra phone calls involved but don't push that button until you've been promised your money back.

I am as far away from being a lawyer as possible so; pinch of salt and all that ;)

Thanks , all very good ideas

I'll see if I can get my machanic round sat or Sunday so he can maybe give me an idea if we can get it through the mot in the next week or so?
If we can I can get it registered and job done!
It doesn't change the way the insurance company have treated me tho
I won't use them again

If it's gonna b a few weeks before my bus is on the road I'll have to ring the back Monday and have another chat but u know what it's like talking to insurance company's, it's like banging your head against a wall , you ARE wrong they are right that's it !

RH get my vote too - the guy I spoke to last time knew about buses, knew about the mods I'd made and told me that they actually made the bus safer in today's world which made a pleasant change.

I guess half the problem at flux is that 1) they're (relatively) big and 2) as a result you're probably speaking to someone who doesn't really care and who just happens to be at the end of the phone.

I'd get a manager on the phone as has already been suggested - they are more likely to have the authority to refund payments and do something that doesn't just follow a script. In my experience, you're better of ringing and giving them a chance to resolve it than getting into a slanging match straight off

Please do not get me started on that set of imbeciles, cretins, half wits etc at Flux. I can tell u I had a bad non fault experience where Flux were my insurance. They were acting on my behalf & tried to bend me over pull,my pants down & slap my botty.
I will bad mouth them any time a thread comes up like this..
Breath Andy :)

I'm not someone who likes to moan at just anything or slag anything off
Flux just didn't care and went back on everything they said
Maybe I should speak to management?

I also fell foul of AF, in regard to agreed value (which I have already ranted on here about). Anyway, suffice to say, as my ins due in a couple of weeks I have been looking on here for tips.

Saw RH mentioned, and they have given me an unbelievable quote compered to AF, for a crew cab asking for agreed value of £20k. AF wanted £300 to renew, 25% increase on last years 240 (WHY?), but only agreed value of £15k unless I get a survey by Assoc of Automotive Engineers & Assessors!
RH quoted me £135 for full agreed value, and a lot more flexible in what agreed value references they accept!
(AF allegedly guarantee to match any other quote, so would be interesting to actually see how they could come down that much.)

Based on above, RH def get my vote, and AF thumbs down !

I'm stuck with AF due to my age. At least you lot get your insurance for £100-£300. Mine is £1400.

i thought by law you had 14 days to change your mind and get a full refund ..?

I phoned up for insurance on my crewcab which is along way off being done, cant remember who i phoned they said they could do a year but only if it was to be registered within that year. why won't companies insure projects?
