name that hose..?

whilst I was getting my indicator relays off the fusebox I noticed a hose that wasn't attached to anything at the bottom. The top end seems to go into the airbox behind the handbrake I think and there's a hole through the bottom panel above the road. Would I be right in thinking that this is some sort of drainage from the air intake and I'm better off connecting it back up? If not then what the **** is it for?
