OK not VW related, but let me know your thoughts; ok so tonight I am picking up some toys of mine its the complete 1988 set of turtles and other bits pasts that, alot with original boxes and 100% complete also all the A-team figures which are 100% complete, now I have no space where i live at the moment to really keep them, but they can go to my parents so thats not really the problem so if you have just read that last bit it was pointless so sorry for wasting your time...haha but the really issue is do i sell them on ebay as thats where i got them and maybe make about £250 and above for all of it or do i keep them.

There are a few things i want:
1. An ipod touch/160GB ipod classic as mine has nearly filled up, but when the iphone comes out as i am with O2 I prob will be upgrading and getting that which in away renders the ipod touch obsolleat, so the touch is a phone just without the phone, but in a way I can't wait for it so i want a touch and then convert my phone to a pay as you go.

2. Get into remote control airoplanes but that will take up time and I want to write song, paint and go out with the camera more, so do i really want to start something new, but i love building things so I was thinking of building planes but not for flying but once that is done I dont wanna keep it or have room so seem abit pointless really.

Please help so many things going around i am not sure what to do.

:?

You sound like you've got more hobbies than me! :)

I'd keep them until they're worth more or until you really need the money.

It seems a bit of a waste to sell them after 19 years of immaculate preservation if you're only going to spend the cash on a hobby or gadget which you may get bored of in a few months.

Blimey that sounds sensible for me, I doubt I'd take my own advice.

The things i do are more like life for me, I love creating things and if i couldn't well i might just explode, as for needed the money I dont think I would ever sell something cause i need the money i would only do it if it was to put in to something else i enjoy. its so hard dude

It's always tempting to get carried away with lots of different projects/hobbies - especially retro cool stuff and toys!

But... having been in a similar situation to yours before (mainly Lego!) I've now come to the conclusion that it's better for me to concentrate on fewer things but do them well - nowadays I'd rather concentrate on a couple of hobbies that I can really get to grips with :D

As for your iPod decision... Technology moves so quickly you need to decide if you're going to be a slave to the latest gadget (and associated expense) every time something new comes out, or if you'd be happy to wait 6 months until it's cheaper and spend the cash on other hobbies that aren't so time sensitive!

Why not choose a couple of ideas that you can do in different weathers so you've always got an interesting option?

Good luck with your choice - decisions, decisions...

;)

Sell the stuff.

Buy the Classic 160gb. It's all the Pod you'll ever need.

I've got a 60gb Video now that's only a few months old. Already 50gb worth of music on it. Classic here I come.

OK well painting, photography, music and the van are a must, they please me so much and educate me, but then I have aways been able to carry my whole music collection around with me, but do i need that, I do agree i need to focus more, but its so hard, I had loads of lego but then i sold it all and don't mind it to much :D

I can't help but want to build.

Why didn't you sell it to me?

If you're a creative person then you must continue to express yourself, but I don't think anyone has the time for 20 different hobbies (Lottery winners excepted!)...

;)

Ok I lack focus thats it, I think I need one project at a time, and switch about abit :D

Sorry dude if I new you liked lego you could of had it :D

def sell ... the money's better spent on creative stuff as you say - having loads of old nice collectable stuff around isnt helping you creatively (or maybe like me it just bogs you down ..) ive been there when I had a huge collection of old Hornby trains years ago - sold the lot and never regretted it ! (money now spent on van and guitar/recording gear !)

hahaha....is that to cool your beer :D

The thing is i give myself such a hard time over things, If i don't do something and sit down, then I keep thinking i could of done this and that, I love having stuff around but just no room, maybe i sell it and by creative stuff and become more focused but how the hell do you do that?

sell em! ive been slowly selling bits n bobs off and i find it so much better to have the space back. we have a loft and 3 garages full of cool stuff but whats the point if you never get to see it?
although saying that as soon as i clear some room the minky fills it up again, that girl loves a bootsale!

life laundry.. its the future!

dude ive just been in the loft as im sorting out some bits, ive got a spare PC up there! why the heck do i need a spare as we have 2 in the spare room (his n hers) its a lower spec than the one im using but ive kept it "just in case"
sell it all!

I recently sold my Evel Kneivel collection on eBay, all original toys in various conditions.
Weve also been car booting stuff on odd weekends.
Its great, creates space and room and gives some cash for frivolities.
Win-win.

Sell the crap

And get creative you know its worth it...

Just wish I could sell some crap to fund my glass casting feck need to don the stripey jumper and stocking over my head and swag bag...

HWMBO - has a **** load of stuff to get rid of to fund her silver work but finds it easier to spend my hard earned..... :(

My wife and I are real hoarders! Every couple of years we have a really ruthless clearout, raise loads of money and feel great about all that extra room! :D

Take all your cheap stuff to carboot sales, sell your nicer stuff on eBay/Amazon, take anything that doesn't sell to the charity shop, and take the crap to the tip! You'll feel great for doing it, and think of all that free space (including mental free space) and how creative you'll feel...

Of course, we soon start hoarding again and swear we won't, but no-one's perfect!

;)
