BBBBBBRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude

So, what shows is this going to be available at to take the engine out and put it in mine?

As a few of you may have heard i've had some massive highs this week 330.5bhp followed by an almighty kick in the nuts when i've killed my motor due to a bottom end failure during a spirited drive round some fast b roads with a mate, this was caused as the sump wasn't baffled enough and starved the engine of oil during hard cornering! :x
So on to engine no. 4

Hello nafe, yes mate staying scooby she'll be sorted soon with scooby race type sump baffle and cosworth baffle plate to keep the oil where it should be, at least there are plenty of wrote off scooby's around!

Bl@@dy hell mate

4th time luck I hope (learning from each of your mistakes :? )

Not posted for a while cause i've been busy at work due to f1 race season finished and all the hospitality vehicles come in for
touch up and damage repairs,
But got new engine ready to go back in and whilst it was out decided to do a cable shift conversion on gearbox,

008.jpg

Also fitting a 6 puck cerametalic clutch disc as it did slip a bit in first gear when you tried to get the power down even though it was new! Ok in rest of gears once it was moving.
024.jpg

Heres the cosworth sump baffle plate fitted to engine,
022.jpg

And sat on top of sump, which iv'e now modded to stop oil moving about,
021.jpg

I've made a gate affair up so oil can go into oil pickup area but not come out under hard cornering braking etc,

Cause of the new gearbox mount i'm gonna need to make up new anti roll bar to clear,
Might be fitting some different wheels (10" wide rears) and a 911 steering wheel to before volksworld show ;)
If anyone is interested my wooden one will be for sale.

first dibs onsteering wheel.

can u pm detailsand pricemate.

another nice engine!and more real work!!

i know you are doing andy's bus. whats the lead time on getting a bus painted by you? have you got alot of work on now the F1 stuff is done?

NaFe

Unsure how much for wheel cost me just over a ton with the boss which is only for crossover or later, as to lead time i'm doing Andys bus as a private job not through work, still busy till end of jan with f1 stuff but hopefully later this year i'll have my own w/shop ;-)

Great work as usual 8)

How difficult to do is the cable gear change stuff as looks a lot neater than the rod selector on standard buses??

Cheers ;)

Gninnam cable shifter isn't to bad to make up but its a bitch to set up properly, just orderded the cables the right lenth to fit,the ones in pic are just samples i used to get started, heres the remote shifter base i've made to go in between seats,
005.jpg

did the cambelt the other w/end,
002.jpg

then last w/end fitted another scoobie scoop to the other side,

for those of you who like the idea of balance and cause i'vejust relocated the oil cooler there
also painted all the intercooler and pipe work black cause i hate polishing :| and added a turbo bag insed of ally heat sheild,
002-1.jpg

and finally a sneak preveiw of my new wheels i've refurbed
001.jpg

Each wheel has around 10hrs work gone into them
Thanks to my brother and wheel whore wilson for locating them for me ;)

looking awsome mate. the extra scoop balances the rear end out and should add a bit of extra cooling for when your tanking it up the strip. black pipework looks good. i think i'm guna powder coat a few bits in my engine bay to save the polishing.

show season is almost upon us :D :D

Mate,

I just love the work you have done to this - it just gets better and better 8)

Big Bang this year ?

Thanks for the answer - I take it by having the gear lever higher, the throw will be shorter and more direct also :?:

Great work as usual ;)

I've got my big bang tickets already(need to see what it'll do up strip) ;)
The bus is gonna be in the volksworld show aswell :D
The leaver is really quite short and hasn't got much throw between gears and its also gonna be fitted closer to me to
save the leaning over the steering wheel pose you end up doing, also the 911 steering wheel sits a bit higher than
standard so once thats all done should be even more comfy to drive :)

brilliant! ill finally get to see it in the flesh :) , i hope its going on a stand? :msn4:

its one serious bus! a credit to the work youve done.
