Hello All, Im Rob, 27. A Graphic Designer living in Norwich.

This plan this summer is to get an early bay, Its been a long dream for many years now. Having been in the VW game for many years i think its time to step it up a gear.

These are my current rides... The beetle is for sale, this will be a good chuck of the money to get my bay! The caddy will possibly go too, Ive still yet to full respray it this month cream.

you won't find a better forum than here for friendly advice with an upbeat vibe. looking forward to seeing your early bay when you get it. you going for a US import or a UK one? resto project or hit the ground running?

Hello mate, so you`ve come to your senses at last, , :lol: I never thought I`d get back to being involved in the VW scene after many years absence, funny how so many come to the idea that it`s an early bay they want and everything else is a bit of a compromise too far. Good luck with the search and there are some proper experts on here (not me) that will help where they can. I`m in love with your beetle as well so do me a favour and don`t put it in our forsale bit, I`ve run out of room as it is :roll:

Photos are not a problem, im a member on more forums than i can count on my hands..... Been reading on this one for ages now. so thought I better join!

Bay wise.... erm after the bug sale, Ill have around 7-8k ish, I guess I will have to see whats about when It's time to buy. Ill be in no rush as it will be a keeper for many years so it needs to be right. Something a bit ratty with og paint would suit me, import looks the way then!

I like the way you`re thinking allready,, if I was starting again, I`d go for either a US tintop or Westy depending on which way you`d need to go. LHD but that`s not a huge issue, I`m not that big on show ponies and trailer queens, but hey !! It`s whatever floats your boat,

I wouldnt want a show shiner, some thing with a bit of history and battle scars would be awesome.

The missus has already put her foot down that shes not camping in one again, So a tin top will do me fine.

We hired a camper last summer and did the brighton coast for a few days, I loved it, She didnt. (need a new missus) :lol:

Shiney buses come with big shiney price tags....... Thats the main reason to be honest

Welcome to the forum, as you've probably seen we import buses that fit into your price range that are usually og paint so if you are looking for something specific let me know, we are being offered new buses most days at the moment.

Cheers Graham, I have spotted you seem to be the guy to go to when buying a import bus, Been checking the for sale section for the past few months and seen your posts.

Got a Caddy thats almost identicle to that as my daly.
Keep that and flog the Beetle (i do like Beetles aswell BTW) then get the Earlybay as a toy :mrgreen:
Get the best that you can afford or youl end up paying for it later in welding/fees.
When you finaly get one we WILL need pix :mrgreen:
