Hello there, some of you may know me from Vzi, i am hopefully selling my bug soon and will be after an early bay, well pre 72 anyway.

I have a few questions on what/how to buy, i would prefer an imported rust free bus rather than a welded one but would it be cheaper to import one myself or buy one already imported?

Is it easy to import them?

Welcome dude....hows things? :)

buy a allready imported one...drop Scot Wilson a pm or visit his site above..

Scout the Samba...get intouch with Kingstown shipping and they will sort it for you.

Either way is easy but the joy of using someone like Scot is you get to see what you buy before parting with your hard earned cash..Buying direct from the usa requires alot of trust between you and the seller.Bare in mind that U.S busses have never been mot'd so its allways wize to factor in about 500 to a grand to get a ticket on it..

Good Luck and again welcome to Early bay :)

save yourself the hassle and buy one already imported, there are a few bargains to be had at the moment, scott wilson and also Simon Hall have some cheap rust free ones for sale.

Welcome to EB, Tim at http://www.roadhouseretro.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
was selling some well priced imports recently, there was a for sale ad on here somewhere, the green signwritten one had potential....

Hey ballbag, is that the ballbag of grey beetle fame. I camped with you and the crewcabkid etc at big bang about 4 years ago wasted. A mate of yours turned up in a Orange Porsche 912 with some party essentials.

drop monkey spinner a pm too see what hes still got....there are some bloody bargains at the mo....saves the agro that these guys have gone through only made that bit easier by them already having the contacts/resources....

remember Scott imports from SA so they'll be RHD....

Volksheaven have very reasonable prices too and good to deal with...

Hey Jay, Justin here. :wink:

Kingstown can look after everything for you, all you need to do is find a good bus on thesamba or craigslist,
getting it checked is obviously better than buying from pics, I know someone that can do that for you around the bay area
for a small fee :wink:

welcome fella. When buying a bus always look at at least three and never buy on impulse.Like many people have said there are a lot of bargains out there right now, but please look through the dream and inspect thoroughly as many have said most places of imports do not have an mot so most things will need replacing
