I'm going to run 1 outer spline drop - searched and found nothing

do I need to notch spring plates? and if so anyone got a pic of the amount.

Before anyone suggests - funds are at almost zero - so std plates are to be fettled and not buying boomerang plates or adjustable spring plates!

thanx

plus a tip for anyone - make sure you buy donut things as you'll find US buses they are broked and this will hold you up a day whilst waiting for bits!!

Think notching springplates will fail UK mot fella , as T2D had a already slammed Split panel van come over with notched plates and had to change em for adjustable ones , I think 8)

my 72/73 is down 2 outer I think - it's not notched and doesn't look like it's been hitting........
mind you there's been no weight in that for 8years!!

the 68 westy, I'm not sure how many splines to do to even it out

what do ya reckon peeps?? the front tyres rub on the arches they are std van tyres on 14" rims - no shocks though, so may try some coilovery things too........

No shocks = Really

what I meant was I haven't installed any shocks - which help eridicate downward movement - coilovers sold at GSF for bug rears is my thought.........

not sure what 's the smallest tyre in 14 and still almost van load capable - as it may be for sale - didn't want to goto the expense of alloys/tyres etc ......but having said that I'd get more moolah if it had shiney wheels
;)

No need to notch anything on a one spliner :)

ours is down 2 and slightly notched but the mot man hasn't picked this up  and its had three since doing it :D

One inner will give you more drop than one outer spline, but it won't hit. (Unless you're seriously loaded up)

Why would you want to notch a spring plate and weaken a key component that is supporting a tonne of 40 year old metal?!

now you tell me......

no notches in springplates - and only done one outer - which seeing as I have just done up and fed the brake pipe back through I'm reluctant to strip down again.........

all copper greased though so should the need arise!! it'll come apart fairly easily..........
