off to brittany

van is packed and the kids are finally in bed, tomorrow we set off for portsmouth to get the ferry to cherbourg, drive to Cuguen and then on to Chateaulin.

any tips for places in brittany, worthwhile stops on the way etc? also anybody know of any vw friendly mechanics out that way just in case. hoping every thing is all in good order, the steering box has been replaced, engine tuned, points and oil changed, new starter motor and a new drivers wing mirror. even been posh and put those fancy headlamp deflector stickers on the headlights instead of using duct tape

Just enjoy the trip and fill up with super unleaded.. 100 octaine. Our bus ran better than it ever did in the uk. Oh and French roads are supurb.. Loved every minute of last years holiday.

Enjoy your trip. We're also off to Brittany (a week tomorrow). Portsmouth - St Malo. First time we've taken the bus to the continent, excited and slightly nervous.

I`m off to Courchevel in the French Alps , driving down from Calais.
Its 958 kms, so decided to do it in the wifes daily, a Golf TDI
We`ve only got a week there and would love to take the bus,
but it would take too long
