Oil Pressure Sender

Hi - I've a 1600 in a 1971 Devon.... and looking to replace the Oil Pressure Sender with the VDO two terminal type to run a VDU Oil Pressure gauge as well as the light. Issue I've got is that it wont fit.... the thread is fine, but the bulk of the body means that it wont fit under the inlet manifold.

Can anyone please help - have I got the wrong piece - how is it done?

best thing would be to post a pic. i cannot imagine what you are doing if you cannot fit it due to it hitting the inlet manifold.
