i've also retrofitted an Emden i got from Rich Oakley and have had it uprated by Tadpole radios but retains the original controls

My Aug 1970 instruction manual shows 3 radios as optional extras, top of the range 5 band 'Braunschweig', 3 band model was the 'Emden' and 2 band model the 'Wolfsburg'
 
I also have Grundig Emden from Rich Oakley, these were an original option from i believe 1968-73. I bought it knowing it didn't work, i just wanted it to complete my dash, however i managed to wire its bulb up to the headlights circuit so when the van lights are on the stereo lights up too.
