Original seats

Its ok mods you can breathe easy , this is a serious question !!.

These are my seats ,they are from my made in 72 late/ early westy conversion bay and are the originals-

In a fit of pique the other day i bought some highbacks for my van and ebayed these , the interest was amazing 40 odd watchers in two days and three good offers well above the £60 starting price , the thing was i then pulled them off , but i wondered if i should keep them since they generated such interest .

Does anyone know about seats , they are a basket weave pattern and have in the past been painted with some sort of vinyl paint , it never seemed to deter the offers , what is so desirable about them ??

Thats puzzling TBH. I'm not sure what the answer is.

About 4 years ago I replaced my original seats, which were still in very good condition. Nobody wanted them - couldnt give them away. Not surprised since they were not known for comfort when new and seat design has moved on over the last 40 years.

It didnt surprise me nobody wanted them since the replacements I fitted transformed driving the camper and I was kicking myself for putting up with the originals for so long and wondering why I hadnt changed them much earlier. :lol:

Maybe its because they rarely come up on ebay but theres plenty of them sitting around in donor buses. Weird.

see seats selling from £40-£100 a pair.....then the 'dealers' £80+ each....there are some shockers on E-bay...so these look good

Should have let them go if their no use to you to be honest.You may relist them at a later date and be unable to give them away.Stick em back on whilst the iron's hot :mrgreen: .Rich
