please help with 1972 van colour!!

please help!

we have just purchased a 1972 westy which is undergoing renovation and we have a choice of the bottom half colour as the van is currently white. we have always liked the idea of a brilliant orange or amber however we know that these were not standard colour for a 72. does this matter, will it effect valuation? or would you all advise us to stick to the colour of the year.

If it was me I'd choose a colour that me and my family would get the most pleasure from.

go for whatever suits you mate . ive sprayed mine a 1963 beetle colour and think it looks great but obviously not standard.

I agree with all of the above in that you should go for what you like..... however based on your orange/amber ideas, have you considered Sierra Yellow.... that was a 71/72 colour?

Depends whether you are planning to sell it on or keep it, if you are planning to sell on I would stick to an original colour and as a matter of interest, all the later westies I have brought in were always painted one body colour not 2 colours like the deluxes, they may have had white roofs but the rest of the bus to the gutter line would be one colour. The 2 colour layout is more of a late bay thing and I think this would effect resale.
