Hi,

My van finally arrived today as part of the sprucing up it got new paint from the gutter down due to the dodgy graffiti some Americans drew on it. However there is some surface rust in the rain gutters. What is the best way to stop it getting worse?

I have looked and there are lots of threads about this kind of thing but I can't make head nor tail of them. We need some product recommendations.

:)

I guess the correct answer would be have them properly prepped and re-painted.

However I run a brush down them each Autumn with some Morris Ankor Wax on it to make them water proof and seal them, I also paint the rusty bumpers with it too. Its held the light rust at bay for six years now, and the bus is always outside uncovered all year.

Wd40 is actually water displacement not an actual oil although it does contain anti corrosive chemicals
I wouldt have thought it would last long enough to protect a month let alone longer term
