Looking at going down the type4 route now, my 68 bay needs something nice to power it along. Any advice on the following greatly appreciated.

1) how much cost to have a second hand one completely rebuilt?
2) what gearbox specs would I need to run it?
3) anyone selling one?
4) who is the man to speak to for rebuild?
Porsche 914 engine......

Thanks in advance.

Have a look here for a wealth of info

Have you considered the Fellows Speed Shop alternative of Scooby power - I imagine it will be similar money!

Quick type 4 stuff is big money. You after a cruising motor or a drag strip screamer?

As above... Price is dependant on spec, and going upright cooling (Porsche/type 1/DTM) is going to add a fair bit to the cost... Plus exhaust systems run in at around a grand...

But if you want to talk numbers... 07918992058

Thanks for the links etc. I definatley want to go type 4 rather than scooping power. Any good second hand motors for sale?..

I've got a stock 2l motor waiting for its forever home at the moment... Just a second hand lump that I pulled from a bay... I've not even run it up as some dingbat had "lost" the starter motor and disconnected all the FI

But If you're building a motor, then it's going to need to come to pieces anyway!! :)
