Hi ,i have just bought the Rear Side Marker Lights and the yellow front Side Marker Lens to go on my california bus, the only problem is that i don't know where they should be mounted .I have trawled the net and noticed that they have been fixed in different positions, would anyone know the proper positions,i have seen the yellow markers on the doors and to the bodywork at the bottom of the doors, any answers would be most appreciated. :)

I have just been looking at a couple of californian imports in the for sale section, and it looks like to me they are kept in line with the front indicator lenses, and fixed to the doors at the front, and just transfer the same height to the rear. Another thing i've just noticed is that the arials are fixed to both left and right sides, does this come down to choice, or is it different if it.s lhd or rhd?

Aerials i'd say is a matter of choice given a lot of bus's didnt come with stereos.

As for the side markers, they tend to be standard on most US bus's dot think ive seen one before without them (at least i havent). Have you checked to see if you have and holes filled inside the doors or rear corners where they were fitted?

I'd agree they are at the same height as the indicators, and the backs to match.

Cheers nugsy, good picture to confirm, no i could'nt see any visible signs of old fixings, which i found odd myself.Mind you, the passenger door i replaced myself as the original had been a good bit battered, and can't swear the drivers is the original either, although i was lucky enough to pick up a near mint door from fbi. I've also just had the bus resprayed so would.nt have been able to see any tell tale signs now.Anyway, will be confident enough to start drilling the bodywork now  without need for worry. :D

Do you really want to put the front ones on? Don't think I would in your situation. Up to you of course.

WHAT AGE IS YOUR BUS?68/9 has the round reflectors mounted on front arch and round ones on rear1/4.

I guess that explains why i,ve seen them fixed to the doors and also underneath them to the bodywork,There's normally an explanation to it all at the end of the day, i suppose,it's just being in the know.I did'nt realise they were round though, and don't know if i like the look of them one's so much. will have to give it a little thought. Anyway, cheers guys, thanks for the imput.
