Can anyone give me any hints / tips on removing my rear hub on my 68? I need to replace the hub due to 2 of the bolt thread being stripped.

I beleive I need a 46mm socket?

hi matt why not put studs in ? youll need to file out the hole a little but it will be far cheaper to do it this way . either way youll need a 46mm socket and 3/4 breaker bar , i got me 46miller from mega bug

When you say put studs in what does this involve? To be honest I want the quickest and easiest solution. Thanks

hi matt get a round file and file out the hole till the studs fit in really snug then hammer them home , (the studs have grooves in them so they will bite into te side of the freshly filed hole , this stops them from twisting and becoming loose )then fit wheel and put a wheel nut on stud ! i did two on one of my hubs many moons ago i got them from vw heritage round about £20 for everything took about 2o mins job jobbered !!
the studs look like the ones 5th pic down 3rd bolt in
