Hi guys could use some help !!! I have got a '71 bay with the small rear lamps.

The PO in America decided that it would look better with hot rod teardrop lamps and to fill the original light apertures !!!!!!!!!

As I'm putting back the features I'm digging in the filler and I have the holes but it looks like the mounting holes have been cut off, has anyone got a good idea on how to mount some og rear lamps ???

Thanks in advance guys

Once had this problem with a beetle, used 2 pieces of radio strap behind with nuts and bolts(stainless)
to hold in place. Used the centre hole so the edges stuck out far enough to brace against the body on either side.
Just a suggestion.

Im sure someone on here used to do a repair panel for those with big back lights to convert to small, or similar

Maybe if you can get hold of them, alternatively get a template of what it should look like and hold that inside to sandwich the the original hole, you could even weld/fibreglass it in

Cheers for the replies guys !

Gonna have to try something as the rear lights that are in now are awful !!!
