recommend me a timing light

So , if you've read some of my recent threads about timing (or lack of it) you'll know that my bay wont time up, anyway i've been let down on a timing light.
A mate was going to lend me his for a couple of days but he hasn't shown up so the wife told me 'just buy one and be done with it' so before she changes her mind please recommend me a decent light, ideally with an advance setting.

Halftard's do Gunson strobe which are fine, you'll only need the advance option if you can't see the pulley mark (that you have made), which on an EB isn't a problem.

Was reading a few threads though about timing up the engine 30*BTDC at 2500 RPM.
How is this done without an advance feature?

Thats what you do if you've got a centrifugal only dizzy,like the 009.This is to ensure your engine doesn't overheat.If you've got a vac dizzy,it's different,I set my vac dizzy to 7.5 degrees BTDC with the vac hose off and plugged.

Try this site, type in timing and see how you get on.
Also got to the old volks home website and get all the tech info for your distributor. If its a vac advance dizzy it should be fairly simple to time 009s can be a pain.

these are the threads that i've been reading thats why im so confused.
Just gonna get a timing light and set it to 5*ATDC (Roughly) and then take it fom there, but need the light first!

Hopefully sorted now, just bought a Snap on timing light off ebay(well sort of off ebay - i made an offer that was accepted).
Hopefully i can bottom out the timing.
