Hi All,

I am currently filling in a V55/5 to register a 1969 lhd bus.
One of the fields asks for the engine number which the people working on my bus have told me is not visible.
The engine came with the bus which was imported from California.
I have not had a chance to check myself yet so I have no idea if the number has just worn away or if it's been filed of.
If it's been filed then I'm hoping there are other reasons as to why this has been done other than it being a stolen engine

Does anyone know what issues this will cause with the registration?

Thanks.

Whilst it is on the form I don't think you have to put it in for the registration, if it matched your chassis number I would add it, but its very rare they will match the 40 years on. Leave it blank or put replacement engine.
The lack of number wouldn't worry me, these engines are shared between so many models and ages, there are so many recon's and factory replacements out there I doubt it will make any difference

Thanks Rippers. I'll send the form in without the engine number and will see how it goes.
