Hi, I came to fit my new clutch release bearing today. Now I had 2 problems, first I bought the part from a well known company
and when I got the bearing out of the box there was a cut in the sealed bag and the 2 clips were missing. So I ‘borrowed’ the
clips from my son-in-laws beetle transmission but this was my second problem the holes in the side of the bearing were to shallow so the clips would not hold the bearing in place. I compared my new bearing with my son-in-laws and sure enough the holes are a lot shallower. Needless to say I have ‘borrowed’ his bearing as well now,
My question is has anyone had this problem or are new clips shorter to match the bearing?
