Anyone recommend anything to remove the acid marks left by birds crap? Is there anything old enough o use by hand or am I better off machining it out?

Try Meguiars Ultimate Compound, their stuff is really good plus it kinda smells nice too

I've just bought some meguiars diamond cut compound, gonna give that a go with the mop. Fingers crossed. :|

I would just really soak it with water first enforce even trying to touch it. I have some bird lime wipes which work well on fresh deposits.

As with every thing it's all about layers of polish to protect the paint surface. Just use a good polish such as Collinite. Although I use greased lighting on my work truck ....bloody brilliant stuff.

But that's a modern paint finish and not a commercial paint finish.

Hope it helps.
