...just looking into these replacement bulbs as the ones on the back of my bus... are...erm....crap!
some are bright some are dim etc.... wondered if anyone had any experience of using these type bulbs?!?!

just read that because of the low current use....the may not flash or may make indicators flash fast as the light thinks the orig bulb has blown?!?!

any advice greatly accepted before i shell out....

i know that when you fit small LED winkers on a bike you need a converter for the reasons you mentioned but as the led type bulbs are a direct replacement im not sure, would make sense though if you did need to convert them. i know the converters arent that expensive though. Ill have a look see if i can find the converters seen um just dont know where

Ash.

I'm running LED bulbs with the correct bayonet fitting in my van and they flash at the correct speed with no mods. Bought my set at the local autojumble, but seen our local motor factors also sell them.

i have used them on the van, stop and tail were brighter, one started to play up and when removed it rattled a bit inside, must be cheaply made! the indicator ones were really dim so i didnt bother, maybe this is down to the manufactures?

i have gone back to standard bulbs now and they work a treat.

we have them on my girlfriends bug which was finished 3 years ago and theyre still going great!

maybe its hit and miss?

if you are having problems with dim lights maybe you should try cleaning up all contacts and replace the wiring and connections..

The problem with mine I think is they are a bit directional. I've seen some now that have LEDs all the way round the sides as well, i reckon if I fit these, get a bit blue peter with the tinfoil and refresh all the reflectors in the light housing I should be laughing.

I fitted the amber LEDs in the rear indicators because they shine amber through US Spec (all red) rear lenses making them legal and MOT-able.

i run them on the rear indicators because i have 'all red' lenses. the reason is, they are so bright they even flash orange through the red plastic! ave some of that copper!

I have to run some of those voltage packs(not sure of the tech term) on the wiring to slow the flash rate down but they were easy enough to solder in place. And solder dont use those ***** scotch locks as they dont last imo.

you can get all the kit off e-bay.
