Anyone ever bought and used replacement covers?
Been quoted close to £400 to have my new (?) 1/3 2/3 seats recovered  but have found a set of covers for £120 +P&P which sounds a lot better but never having changed any covers before just wandered what peoples thoughts are on the quality of replacement covers.

I bought new TMI covers and foam inserts for my 1/3 and 2/3 seats, although heinously expensive I'm glad I did. The quality is as good as OG.

I thought about putting them on myself, read a few articles, seemed simple enough. Then I had a look at some that had been home-installed. Everyone that I saw had something wrong with it, normally corners in the wrong place, or simply baggy. Fine if you've got some from an auto-jumble for a tenner, but why screw up hundreds of pounds worth of new kit?

The trimmer I used was superb, and made me realise I'd soon have ****** it right up! Although I had replacement foams, (TMI no longer supply sizel bases) he had to cut and sculpt some parts and add to others to correct the shape of a 40 year old seat base. He also made me a solid back for the bench seat, going as far as using tea to stain the cotton the correct colour!

i got my covers of ebay then used a tmi foam kit for both seats. foam was expensive
for what you actually get. i took my time, did it on a sunny day (which helped stretch the fabric)
the only thing i'd change is probably as jason say's shape the foam a bit.
here they are.....

Supplied by Joanne & Steve (J&S Upholstery) can't remember exactly the cost but somewhere in the region of £150.
Really pleased with them.

The covers i have seen are from a compay on ebay advertising 1/3 2/3 bench seat cover for a splitty but i have emailed them and have been quoted £120 + P&P. £200 cheaper :D

Will try J&S later to see what they can come up with
