Currently awaiting delivery of a full width RnR bed (cheers Lee 8) ) but where is the best place to get the foam? And how much should i be looking to pay?
I have had a look on ebay and nearly all the shops / dealers are selling 3/4 but not full width.
Also with the spare wheel in the back (still planning on it coming off the front) i will have to cut the foam around this but what do i use to cut it with?

froggy i made a few phone calls to various ebay sellers and the cheapest was a fella in dorset about 130....thought it was loads a money so went to a local guy an upholsterer by the name of goldsmiths who supplied foam , covered it in leather look with piping round the edge, had the front seats done and restuffed at the same time then also got all my panels to also to match and the rear parcel shelf as well , so the complete interior all for the princely sum of 750.....fookin bargain i think.......

bit long winded reply

.. i used to work for a softplay company .. and we used a company in Leeds/Bradford called Transfoam ..

http://uk.local.yahoo.com/entity.ht...ford,+West+Yorkshire&wid=13527&cid=1001835174

Very good prices, different density of foam available, and they will cut it for you to the exact size or shape .. I know for a fact it won't be anything like £130 ..

recon foam is the cheapest and is ok, if a little dense .. but they will give you lots of options..

They will even layer it so a soft foam sits on a dense base giving comfort and support .. its really whatever your after ..

If ya get some from there, they may not deliver in your area cos its only a smallish company, but if you have any difficulties with postage, i can pick it you up and post it up/down dependant on where you are ..

... oh and er electric bread knifes make awesome foam cutters .. shhh trade secret!

i need foam for a full width bed. anyone know if the just campers foam is the same size as the original bed from a late bay?

I have been looking for some foam to change my bed area, although I don't have a rock and roll, I got a few quotes for the section above the engine bay, 1550mm x 760mm was £36 cut to size from a company in Leeds I can collect from, or IdealFoam on ebay (based in Taunton) was around £30 posted! Most places on ebay I contatcted will also do foam cut to size.

The prices above are foam only, no covering...

Hopefully the neighbours mother will cover the foam for us, we've already asked we just need the foam and whatever fabric were having

Went to a local market today and there was a bloke selling foam, cut to any size, so i enquired and...............
Couldn't remember sizes needed so guessed at 6'x6'x4",
it doesn't cost any extra to cut so just give me the sizes and we can cut to suit, nice one roughly how much am i looking at?
£149

I couldn't get away quick enough, £149 still in shock now
Thought a market would be cheap but looks like it JK or Bluebird foam for me although these are only 3" foam, would i notice that much difference?
What thickness do most people have?

Hi froggy,

I got 5 cuhions taylor made. 3 for a rock and roll bed which fix onto the base like they should, and 2 for the buddy seats and he fully retrimmed in quality vinyl with piping for £400.00 all in. That's with 3'' foam and you choose the firmness and thickness.

i think for £400 you can't buy better! If you want them i'll PM you the guys details. He has a large choice of colours too! I couldn't find better quality or value!
This is how it looks...

my jaw is on the floor

and everybody's so calm about the prices - i must be as poor as a church mouse

i get all my foam from the tip

*we've got lumps of it round the back* etc. etc.

as an aside, i put 'poor as a church mouse' into google 'cos i've had a drink and i didn't know if it was a real expression or a figment and it came up with this...

"Church Mouse who has dedicated his life to Jesus will live in poverty and donate all of his riches to the other mouses who need it more. Soon he finds himself worse off than those who he once pitied. Not long after that, the church recognizes his existence and hires the best rodent exterminator money can get to destroy their preception of an evil vermin. Church Mouse spends the rest of his life on the run. He is worse off than Regular Mouse ever was."

Try giving Herberts a call. I just bought some foam for my buddy seat for £21.

He is a nice guy. Mention me if you call: http://www.herbertsfoam.net/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have a good trimmer that has done my seats if you want it trimmed too. Herberts can supply loads of different cloths too. I am going to get my curtains done soon...

another cool tip for ya if you plan to put the wheel in the back keep the foam you cut and use it as an infill when you are camping like this
