Alright earlybayers
Poking around my van after the extreme heavy rain down here the other night and noticed water slightly creeping in on the drivers side middle and rear windows..
There are small rust spots on the inside and in places i can hear the "rusty crunch" when i press the rubber
I have had a look on vwheritage parts and cant see any replacement panels for the side windows - do they exist? Is it something i need to sort out immediately? - starting to worry,,,,

The only experience i have is on a mk1 golf rear window when the rust had only really corroded the seam (where the inside and outside metals meet, and the window rubber sits on and around!!)
In this case i managed to use some mesh and fiberglass which worked fine but think the camper may be a little worse = Any tips on taking out the middle vent window and rear window (both driver side) on a 71 devon moonraker?? just push??
Again my only experience is with a mk1 golf so dont want to just presume the same applies here!

Ease my worrying mind and let me know its all ok pls

To remove the windows, use a sharp knife and cut around the rubber on the inside, they just fall out after that so make sure your assistant is ready on the outside. It's safer than pushing as you will have less risk of breaking the glass and if the lip is at all rusty then you will not distort it until you are ready to do whatever. Alway use a genuine rubber when you refit, the repro ones just don't fit.

sound advice...

but if you cant find a helper you can buy a glass fitters suction holder for about £5, and you can always use it for scaling large buildings and cat-burgling when your finished!
