Can anyone recommend a good sat nav for under £200 that would cover uk and europe as there seems to be lots around but all have conflicting reviews :?:

Tom Tom or Garmin have the best software and have been around the longest.

I use a Tom Tom like Faux, and it is great.

Tom Tom all the way, much better mapping than most of the other makes, I've got a 720 and its brilliant.

The wife and mother in-law are couriers ANd swear by Tom Tom...just as well since the M in-law cant read a map....

personally I still like me map and brain

ive got a tom tom 300 and a garmin nuvi 200 , both do the job intended , tom tom got better screen detail , its all down to cost , my advice is go with either tom tom or garmin , tried and tested by thousands .
had a few sat navs over the last few year , tom tom HP ipac (x2 , 1 popped , other wouldnt read off the sd card got it replaced by the 300) medion (from that hal shop) tried to send me the wrong way down a one way street , that had been so for over 10 years  so got refund . The only problem i (and others) had with the 300 was , about 2 year ago it kept telling to do u turns on motorways  yet the screen was showing straight on :? .
the other week we where heading from derby to skegness for viva skeg vegas , we took the 300 and it showed going down A52 , quickest route is A52 to qmc and cut through city centre , but it said not :? so thought ill follow it , see where it takes us  went all the way on A52   yet when got home put route in the nuvi and it showed the city route
heard good reports about the tom tom 1 and the nuvis , both good for the cash 8) just wish they had been at todays prices 2 years ago

saves on any hassles gadget boy  dont know if any one else seen these , an atlas for sat nav destinations  saw one in a motorway services , sort of defies the need

Tom tom One (Europe), mine was £130 from Halfrauds and it has been excellent.

I have both TomTom and Garmin and if buying would definitely go for the TomTom, i just find it easier and more intuitive to use. Coverage in europe on both is good but i favor the TomTom becasue of the on screen info while in map mode, you can customise it for speed etc. The TomTom also has better fixed speedcam coverage if your going for the extras.
