Cant seem to find a straight answer on the normal part sites.

I have a 71 model early with early style disc setup.

What front and rear shocks do I need?

Are the front just latebay shocks? Rear?

Got these on my 71, firmed up the ride nicely and fitted with no problems, best to "soak your nuts" with penetrating fluid before trying to remove the old shocks as they are prone to rusting up as covered in crud from the wheels.

They are in the sale too !

Fronts:

Rears:

This is assuming the third digit of your chassis number is a 1, which means its a 71 model year.

Hope this helps,

Cheers

Alex

Why the rears so pricey (don't just mean VWH, most suppliers are the same) 72 upwards are cheap?

My understanding is its due to the batch size they can be made in.

These only fit a small number of vehicles compared to the front.
