Should I worry?

Changed the gearbox oil yesterday, my drain plug looked like this when I got it out:

Is this normal wear? I don't know when the oil had been changed for the last time, but it hasn't been changed for at least the last 3,5 years.

As you say the oils not been changed for ? so the damage has been done if its gonna go its gonna go, hopefully you'll get a hint before/if anything catastrophic happens.....

As long as the gearbox works and isn't noisey it should be fine,it doesn't look like a lot of swarfe to me.
