Snapped gear shifter !

New to the forum, so Hi to everyone

What started as a quick trip to B&Q, ended up bieng 15 mins in the store and 2 hours waiting for the AA to tow me home

I had an Empi trigger shifter fitted until it snapped !
It snapped off at the bottom end, about 50mm above the connecting joint, is thiis a common fault ?

All sorted now, new shifter fitted and back on the road, happy days

had the same empi shifter on 2 buses over 7 years done over 10k miles, never had a problem.

Thats good to hear, Ive gone for the same shifter again, so fingers crossed

I've got that Empi Hurst style shifter too, done 12k + not a problem, but the shine has gone from the ball on top
No matter how much i polish it.
