Solar panels are coming!

yeah i thought it was a neat idea.......................until i was nodding off last night and realised a flaw in the plan.. if it's tucked up under the rack when on the road it will not be charging, but then again as i write this... the split charge unit will charge the LB and run the fridge. Trouble before was i have an original dynamo that possibly was not up to charging the starting and liesure batteries and run the fridge.

so when the bus rebuild happens there will be a major re-think/overhaul of the liesure side electrics. eg, solar and LED lights instead of "low Voltage" halogens etc.

And a new alternator maybe? I only have experience of a alternator, are dynamos that bad at charging? Is it the load on them?

yep an upgrade to an alternator is a def. don't know how bad the dynamo is/would be but we must have switched to alternators for a reason. all a way off at the minute. but i am trying to think ahead on things... 8)
