Starter motor stop ring broken help

Took the starter motor off today to change the bush and found the Stop ring is cracked. Can't see where I would get one. Anyone know please or has anyone got one? Thank you. I don't want to buy a starter motor just because of that

On further investigation I have found a large amount of play in the spindle on the starter motor, it looks as if the bearings have failed. So what started out as changing a bush has turned into a new starter motor.

If it’s a genuine Bosch, you should be able to get it refurbished for less than the cost of a new one. Some places will do an exchange so could save you a bit. If it’s a Chinese copy then it is probably only good as a paperweight.
