Anyone know why the bus wouldn't start this weekend from cold and also once before after a two hour trip. When I jump it from the leisure battery it fires straight up.

The main battery is only 12 months old and made by Bosch. It read 12.6v but when I turned the keys the ignition light just dimmed. When I put the jump cables over the to the leisure it started fine. Earth cable appeared fine as that was my first thought.

It also did this once last year on the way down to Cornwall at a petrol station.

Cheers guys

Does sound like battery if all other connections are ok. Make sure you check the lead from the alternator/dynamo are ok. Mine was almost cut through so battery could not charge.

I had a similar issue,

replaced starter, battery and alternator turns out all i needed to do was fit a relay next to the starter so the starter got a full wack from the battery and the igntion wire was just used to switch the realy.

The wire has broken down over time so its wasn't giving the starter a full 12 V whack hence why it always jumped ok.

Thanks for the reply guys. I think all the cable are ok and the terminals are fine as I regularly disconnect them and leave the battery on charge when not in use.

I've got a feeling I may need to fit a relay. I know its been covered before so I might use the search button......

Cheers
