Made the first leg - now enjoying a cold one in the Drum Inn!
No traffic issues after following Si's advice and avoiding OP Stack on the M20
Lovely country pub with a great menu
Second leg tomorrow and into Europe

Glad it worked out ok, nice evening down here too.

Now sat at the Channel Tunnel terminal waiting to meet up with Foz and board the train
No delays or hold ups so far! Operation Stack is in force though although not for campers

Made it back from another epic helping of LeBug!
Had an amazing time and cant wait to upload the pics - wasnt without incident though
Foz nearly split his front airbagged beam in two and is currently being recovered back minus bus!
We lost our radio aerial, a lorry shed its load of bricks infront of us and one of the vac leads came off a carb so we were popping and banging for 170 miles till I could fix it!

Apart from those little issues there were smoke flares, strippers and more Juplier beer than you would believe!
An almost burnt down awning was another unpleasant part - defective gas cooker to blame!
Going to order an Indian, take a shower and chill after driving over 220 miles today!

The trip was brilliant though
Lincoln to Kent and stayed in the drum inn (recommended) about 180 miles
Kent to Adinkerke via Le Tunnel for beers and baccy about 60 miles
Adinkerke to Spa about 170 miles

Return leg was started yesterday - I was feeling mint after partying on Sat eve and packing up in 30 deg heat!
Spa - Lombardski about 170 miles
Lombardski to Calais 40 miles
Folkstone to Lincoln 200 miles! 8) 8)

Love this show!

More pics to follow soon! :D

Well we are back and its 2016 8)
Slightly traumatic start to the year with work not making their mind up when and for how long I am going to the Falklands for!
However as it stands it is Sept for 6 months so prep can begin on Murphy for the summer season.

As the weather was nice today I decided to adjust the rear brakes as they werent holding on the handbrake too well, whilst there I did the usual checks
Now have a rather long shopping list including :
New pushrod tubes/seals
New front Ariel
Oil Change Kit
Stainless Fresh Air Hose
Along with various gaskets and seals that have degraded over the winter

Although the brakes are lovely now with just 3 clicks on the handbrake to lock the rear wheels

Once the service items are replaced and the pushrod tubes sorted a trip to the rolling road is scheduled and a nice fresh MOT
Shows we plan on enjoying this year include

EarlyBay Campout
Stanford Hall
Dubs@TheCastle
SPA (of course)
SkegVegas

Once I get the parts further updates will follow!
Bloody hate winter!!

Stu & Clare :D

41% at gsf again this weekend mate. At least you'll get most your summer in now :D

Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Cheers Adam for the info
And yes can look forward to the summer now I will be spending it here in the UK.
Managed to get all the parts required from VW Heritage so will be having a busy weekend coming up replacing some parts.
Then it's rolling road time 8)

Winter's when you get all the work done, to be able to play all summer. ;)

Yep very true - however the time went soooooo fast so I am classing March as "winter" and am preparing like mad!

After purchasing tickets for all the shows including SPA!! I have had my parts arrive
This afternoon after an early stack from work I decided to assemble my replacement spring loaded pushrod tubes
They werent cheap but I doubt they will ever need replacing again!

From Heritage they arrived in kit form with no instructions so I put my engineering head on and decided to get them assembled
( :msn4: on the computer desk - as the wifelet is at work :msn4: )

I liberally applied silicone grease to ease the assembly and prolong the life of the rubber seals and o-rings

Partially assembled

All done! 8)

The quality of the parts was great and the seal between the two sections is excellent so I doubt I will see any further leaks from this area

Tomorrow is fitment day, along with oil change, new gaskets, stainless fresh air tubes and other sundries

:D :D

Had an eventful day working on the bus!

Managed to get all the old leaking pushrod tubes removed and replaced with the nice fresh ones
Cleaned up the areas and they went in a treat, also managed to drop the oil and replace the fresh air tubes for some heavy duty stainless items
Although I did have a slight issue with one of the rocker studs snapping

Here are the pics

Nice and clean

When reassembling the rockers it started off looking like this

And when torquing the nut on the stud sheared

I also noticed both my bumpstops are knackered

GQrVi.jpg

So I removed them

Anyone have a link to some replacement items?? No idea how they are fitted either - or are they actually required?

More parts and a stud extractor on order now!!

Just a push fit Stu, it looks like you may need them looking at the witness marks on the chassis. ;)

Can you link me the correct replacement item mate?

You may need to cut the top two sections off.

Cheers buddy - will get them ordered!! :D

Managed to get a couple of hours work done on the bus today
New bumpstops installed, oil changed, and off axle stands

Gave the rear wheels some love, good clean up, two coats of wax and sealant ready for some cruising
Only have one issue which is a leaky rocker cover - gasket wont seal around the shiny (crap) cover and have ordered a replacement from GSF!

Yep - the clearance is tight although the old stops did manage 2 years before failing
I will be getting notched before long though so shouldnt be too problematic

Sure thing ref the wheels - will pop over, you dont mind if I use a hammer to clean your wheels though do you?

Ay Gringo!.....arriba arriba andale arriba!!
Nice work as usual man.
Did someone mention chassis notch?? 8)
