Which MOT station did you use? Just thinking i could mention it as it will be fairly local!?!

I found the baffle and fitted it so hopefully he will let it pass now.

Anyone spotted a way round this?

Nowhere does it say that your vehicle has to be running to pass the MOT. It's exempt from the emissions test anyway and only thing that would stuff you is if your running a servo. If its not running they can't hear the exhaust.....
Still needs an engine.
On a pre gas test vehicle (75 i think) a visual test has to be done. Checking for unreasonable amounts of smoke.
Also you will strugle to find an MOT Tester happy to test a vehicle that he or she would have to push out of the brake rollers ;)

I have an MOT :D :D

Unfortunately it has caused a few problems though... the mechanic took it round with the baffle fitted and asked them to have a listen, one of the testers said it would be ok so the van was left for it's re-test.
It was the other tester who actually did the re-test and he failed it!

So after a few strong words from the mechanic they signed it off with a pass.

Now i am waiting to find out if they are going to try and charge for a second MOT

Either way i doubt i can leave the exhaust on next year or i will have to start using someone else.

Use someone else dude!!

Will not accept that our classic Volkswagens are worse than scummy chav cars with bean can exhausts.
