ok the sun roof is out at last woohooo..

the cables and the wheely winder?? looks siezed up..

if i go tha option of just making the roof slide manually how does everyone lock the roof in postion when it closed??

thanks again for all your helpall, i would still be standing scratching my head if it wasn't for you guys 8) 8)

Once i managed to open mine I had to replace a whole side of the runners as the cable would not come out!.
Roof is in manual slide mode with two bits of wood to raise it up to the closed position-to open, remove wood place guides into slider track and push back.
It will do for now.
Good luck

Somewhere on here is a thread about sunroof cables with a link to a supplier in the states, I think the winders are available as well, I think heritage list them , you may find beetle ones will fit (not the cables) I got one from a 411 on mine.
Check Stateside ebay as they are more common over there and The Samba too.

they will probably be on your doorstep tomorrow. CIP are faster than UK suppliers at getting your order delivered.

i bought a riviera roof when i first bought my camper. it does indeed look like a dogs dinner but i was hoping with good prep it would blend in ok. may have to go back to the drawing board and get a new roof
