Suspension help please

I want to replace all the shocks on my May 1968 westy. Will later bay ones fit? It's just the bloke I've just had a conversation with says the ones he can supply is up to 1977? I'm sure the ones I need are 68-71 or 68 only? Can anybody shed some light on this.
