Anyone running a similar motor?? if so, howd you find it??

I was going to 1776 but cant afford it yet. the engine has been rebuilt (before i bought the bus) and not done loads since just want a bit of poke and i think this may increase fuel economy as well.

Opinions please

Cheers.

Ash.

Yeah that will work well, get electronic ingition and a 4 into 1 exhaust also and you'll be set ;)

I have a 1700 (74mm crank stock b&ps), with an engle 100 & 36 DRLAs - goes pretty well when its working
With pertronix & merged exhaust ;)

another question, what diameter header???

Some merged systems won't fit a bay, but a Bugpack streetmax 1 5/8 will work though. They start at about £200 i think and thats without a muffler

Unless of course your gonna run a stinger? ;)

Mines a streetmax got it cheap via 2 ebay auctions about £140 for header & box - mild steel only though.

I'm temped by a merged system but i might just get a glass pack muffler to bolt onto my current header. I can't decide :?

Ive decided to Build my own exhaust  Im going to try my best to copy as best i can the CSP Python header with a similar style tuckaway muffler to that of turbo thomas. Ive found about 30m of 1.5" stainless pipe at work so i might aswell use it  Im trying to fathum the best way to to sort the bends, either buy a mandrel bender or make a ring roller :( . i can get 1.5" Ubends for about £12 each which is fairly cheap. Also found perforated stainless tube and muffler wadding for about £25 all in all it should cost me less than a £100!! Just have to calculate if 1.5" will carry enough gas away if i ever decide to go 1914cc. Its not going to be a major problem if i go the pre bent route but if i bend it myself itll save me a FORTUNE!

Keep an eye on my resto thread for the updates.(http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12326" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) after ive sorted all the other problems ive found trying to fit the exhaust in
