Ive been looking around at teardrop trailers (i hate the word caravan),and am thinking of building a retro look one for the kids to sleep in next season, i just love the idea of pulling up on a site or show and doing nothing (especially after the fri night at vanfest).
Does any one on here have or use one :?: I was thinking along the lines of the "bedbug" size like at vanfest but more old skool looking, whats your views guys.

That what you mean :mrgreen:

Chippi, been thinking exactly the same for my little guy, a small trailer affair just for him.....hmmmmm..... you've re-invigorated my creative instincts again......

I too had a look at the bedbug things and quite a nice idea but......

I did see a while ago a company producing micro caravans that came with a foldout (large) BBQ and a beer keg/tap 8)

but cant remember who it was.....

is this the type of thing you want http://hometown.aol.co.uk/s40br/myhomepage/business.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have the base frame for my teardrop already build, i have about 50ish CAD designs for different teardrops, my favorite being the 'Ken Skill' with its old 50s sweeping fenders.

I wont be doing any work till the bus is build now as theres a baby on the way and want to get done before that :D

benroy is also a nice plan....

little guy is about the size im after but its still too modern im thinking along the lines of early bay shortened bumper on the back with early lights or beetle etc could even squeeze some moon vents in the rear :lol:
Johnny, would love to see some cad designs, any links available?. Need more pics please for ideas

how about cutting the front off a beetle and making one in to a teardrop trailer! could work with a bit/lot of work!

more like a lot of work, have seen it done before and it does look good, i did see a rear end for an oval beetle for sale complete with glass and was half tempted ,think it might be easier to start with a trailer as a base and work up :)
