temperature sender fitting

Morning All,

Just dropped the oil for an oil change and also decided to fit a temperature sender M14x1.5. so far so good I am now having trouble :roll: getting the sender to fit into the sump plug hole there seems to be an excess of about 5mm the oil strainer is not allowing me to screw the sender all the way..... Can I pierce through the closed nipple on the strainer ? it's the only way i can see of fitting it. Please HELP........

Yup, you'll have to put a little hole in it to allow for the sender, I had to do this on mine.
