Today I fitted a Just kampers stainless exhaust and 4-1 stainless manifold. Fitted pretty much perfectly without too much hassle. I actually really enjoyed fitting it! Its looks to be a really good quality exhaust.
The hardest bit was re-fitting the flexible tin foil air hoses from the fan shroud to the heat exchangers.

I drove to Dublin airport and back this evening (110 miles) and definately noticed a bit more power. Cruised at 90-95 kph on the motorway with no probs. Over 100 kph, it gets too noisy
For the first 30 miles, there was a bit of a smell of burning rubber (must have been the crumbling engine bay seals) but the smell went away after that. I've heard a rumour that the rear valance tin can get hot enough to fry an egg...definately gonna try that some day.

At the moment, I still have the heat exchangers fitted, but the metal heater tube is rusted out. I'm leaning towards abandoning the heat exchangers and going with j tubes, and maybe getting a propex heater instead. One of the hexs is original vw and one of them looks like a JK replacement. The JK one is badly rusted and holed. The genuine vw one is not just as bad, but is also holed.

Anyway, if anyone is lookin for a stainless exhaust, the JK one is pretty cool.

Agree with^^^^^^^

as i have stated loads in the past it outstrips allot of stainless ones out there and really does look and perform well. Top marks! 8)

I'm working i armagh, ive near moira, id love to nip over and see that as im trying to make my mind up about which exhaust... does it stick out much as ive had problems before with chavs jumping on my muffler to try to break it  .

hey johnny have a look at my van thread here
http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?t=20&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=165

it doesnt stick out much atall and doesnt fade over time like others This has been on the van for a few years now 8)

Chavs jumping up and down and trying to break, what really is the point I hope you did the same to there heads

Yeah i had a stainless system on my Clio Sport they broke that it was about £500 new and that was nearly 8 years ago, broke my heart but it was on a lifetime guarantee

If id caught them id have done more than jump on their heads, i keep one like this in the boot in case of emergencies

It was a present from an uncle in new york, only had to bring it out once when my neighbour was getting his work tools stolen out of his van. He had 2 chavs in head locks, one under each arm  , i heard them squeeling for the other 2 chavs in the gettaway car and came out to give him a hand.

Glad you like. I would never reccomend anything that i have not tried and tested to hell! :D

We've the same system on our van as easy, the JK stainless 4 into 1 header with stainless quiet pack, it's been on for two years and is still perfect, its a good system.

Hey johnny,
come have a look anytime. Just give me a ring to make sure I'm around .... from da north its 00353 87 7535282. I'm in holiday mode at the moment so should be here most of the time for the next few weeks!

I'm actually south monaghan (six miles out the Shercock road from Carrickmacross)

I fitted the JK s/s exhaust a couple of months back, and Iv squashed it!. There is an eye ring just above where the exhaust hangs, if you dont mind living without it, cut it off.
I was crossing a field ( as you do ) when the bottom of the exhaust bumped on uneven ground, ( vans one notch lowered ), the exhaust got squashed between the ground & the eye, now its got a crimp about half way along.
If youve never bought from JK before, buy a cheap thing first, they send you discount vouchers and the reduction in price on a s/s exhaust was enough to cover the cheap thing!
