hi everyone just bought my first bay 1969 i pick up on saturday needs quite a lot of work i am a welder by trade so any body work chassis no problem what i wanted to know is i need to buy myself a basic toolset could you tell me what basic tools i will need hope you can help thanks

Depends on what you are fixing? Almost everything, metric sockets and wrenches for sure.

I have 3 full toolboxes and 2 bags full of assorted pullers etc. I have at least 150 spanners and 3 socket sets. Total weight around 150kg  . Took me 40 years to accumulate them, so just buy loads at car boot sales etc. You might use a tool only once in 20 years but that will be the time you save yourself lots of money! The most useful tool I have is an ancient but very strong 6" blunt knife - I use it almost every time I work on one of my vans.
