track rod ends touching..whats that all about !!!!!

hi guys

in the proceess of sorting my front end out done the ball joints and fitted the fixed track rod and found it to be touching the other rack rod ( the adjustable one ) , i got it from just campers who assure me its the correct one for the year and i agree , it is slightly bigger wall around the ball joint so ive purchased the adjustable track rod one aswell to see whether that makes any odds, has any one encouted this before as just campers said they sell loads of these and never heard of this problem before , the van is a 1969 on the road 1970 lhd cali bus which ive lowered slightly cut and turning the beam, any help would be great as its mr mot on friday !!

That's right on up there with 'the cheque's in the post' - go back to them and get them to source the correct part - do you have measurements from the old rod you could give them?

will do ,they measure the same centre of ball joint to centre of balljoint but the casting around the balljoint is fatter

happy days turns out they are a manufacturing fault .........fair play to just campers there will be one on my mat before 10am tomorrow and they were really helpful so problem solved...........thought i was going mad !!! lol
