Not sure where to post this request so sorry if it’s in the wrong place.....does anyone know if it’s legal to tow an uninsured cnon runner without it being on a trailer? I’ve been asked to sell an air cooled Beetle for a family member who’s seriously ill but it has to be moved from where it’s stored asap and they’ve lost the keys too!

(I do own an early bay too!)

 I think you may even know the answer, but the keys issue is a different thing. Early bay early in the morning when there`s no one about, sortof five or six oclock.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,What time do your rozzers change shift ???

This also gets into the weird bit now with the mot if it’s mot exempt ??? And the tax, even if it’s free, it still has to be taxed, and mot exempt doesn’t mean not road worthy, and there’s no getting around the insurance really is there

Despite the tax being free - it must be taxed.
As for MOT exemption - that is normally declared upon taxation. However that doesn't mean you can use something unsafe.
If you're concerned then you need to get it trailered i.e. no wheels in contact with the road. Might not be that cheap - but less than the possible fine should you be stopped doing something unsavoury.
