Any advise on removal of the above from a 1971 bay (removable valence). Have just done it but as with fitting it took 2 of us ages of twisting lifting and pulling so as not to foul the carbs on the valence support bits. Do folks remove the engine support bar first? We didn't but in hindsite would prob. have made things easier. There is obviously a knack that I havn't yet got!

No need to remove the engine support bar but you will find it a whole lot easier if you remove the carbs. The last thing you want to do is damage your very expensive carbs.

you can leave the carbs on just remove the little brass balance take offs as they easliy break   , filters etc, remove the engine bar etc and I find keeping the van low, engine on a trolley jack and it will come out easier enough, just turn at an angle when it gets close to the chassis legs. It can be done both ways on your own but it's always handy to have someone just to steady the engine. hope this helps
