K@rlos,
Have you bought the B&Ps already? I have been advised that the AA 90.5 strokers are or more consistant quality than the Mahle ones at the moment.

What characteristics are you looking for ? Torque/topend power ?

Johnboy

No not yet, B&P's and heads are the only things left to get. I didn't know that about the quality  Although AA's are looking more likely due to the supply issues of Mahle and now I know of the quality issues too its AA's are proberly the way to go. Power wises, Hector the chap building it says 150+hp would be easy to make providing the heads are well worked, as for a power band the goal is tons of bottom end and mid range grunt, after all my bus is a heavy Westy. He has assured me it will smoke tyres and make me gin from ear to ear :D

I trust him because his 64 beetle has does 11's and massive wheelies

Not sure I would want that in a van though, kids would feel sick after a while, he must rev the arse off it.... :)

Make sure you ask him what the torque curve will look like, you want something nice and flat from 1000rpm upto 5000rpm to keep the misses happy and make it a pleasure to drive, unless you are taking it up the strip then you only need the Revs !!!

Please report back when the motor is done ;)

 that would be a bit extreme in a bus, just put that to imply he knows his stuff. My missus says any big engine in a camper is ridiculous but tbh I don't really care what she thinks about it  I told him that's what I wanted and he has drawn up a list of the necessary parts for the build.

I stoked

my 1745 so as good as - is set at around 8.5 - have the calculated value noted down in a secret location that I cannot find

doesn't run too hot - I'm running out of tune so I need to probably get on to that - once done I only expect issues with long duration at high'ish revs - which I should really avoid - 80mph on a motorway is about 4k revs - it starts to get warm after 20-30 mins of that...much nicer to cruise at 65-70 and not have to be glued to the oil temp gauge...

Good luck with the engine and i disagree with your missus ;)

Will bring smiles and if you try on strip......you'll love it 8)

Cheers man :) I'm gonna take it down the strip once or twice just to see what its made of, any other racing will be the occasional traffic light drag with a Chav

Any suggestions on heads for a 2332 cc I've built up the bottom end so the top is next

What CR are those who already have (or are building) a 1776 running at?

The engle 110 cam i have suggests between 8.0:1 and 8.5:1

My 1776 runs 9:1 compression with an Engle 110.
