Ok I have bitten off more than I can chew.

Devon roof is currently lying on the garden with no seals:

Bus is parked on the drive, no roof.

I have spent the last 3hrs trying to fit the new seals but no joy.

Does anybody know a mobile company or somebody that can assist me in Essex with sorting this before the rain comes?

This ain`t the answer you really want to hear but if you gets really stuck, wack the roof back on in pieces and plonk a cheap tarp over it and lash it down even if you got to pinch one off something. Don`t try and put a tarp over the hole or it`ll fill up and you`ll have a swimming pool. The other thing I could think of is if you can lay your hands on some corrugated roof sheeting of any description. There`s a 72 Devon not far from me and he lives with a roofing sheet on top of his roof through the winter  I hope someone local comes up with something !!

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,, Good luck bud

Cheers Bud, wish I'd stuck with my 'little' leak problem now, would have been a lot easier!

Looking at the pics this roof is different to mine, the bit with the roof light seems to be fibreglass, mine is aliminum that rivets on to the frame. The seal, if I recall is in two pieces, you remove the 'string' from the main seal. Join the two parts with the main part of the seal (which os a bit of a pain as it can pop out). Then push the 'string' back in, bit by bit (using a small screwdriver or silimar). Its a two man job imho.

Yeah this is the same, I tried to join the two parts with the main part of the seal but it just keeps popping out, did yours have the concertina part attached when you did it or is it easier to take it all apart?

I replaced the bellows, so they were removed at the time. We had it on a couple of tables so it was at waist height, may have made it a bit easier too.

That said ive done this twice, second time to install some white vinyl over the roof as was leaking past rivets. That time bellows remained on

Update:

Monday:

Finished work about 4pm and started trying to fit the seal again, finally finished about 9 after getting the first seal in place, even had a neighbours assistance at one point (Didn't really help much too be honest, just kept moving it around and the seal kept falling out, back to square one)

Tuesday:

Managed to borrow a Diamond tool from Dubs by Dan and spent the last 3hrs fitting the other seal...........4 Days, lots of sweat and swearing and its all back together:

Just need the rain to stop now so I can get it back on the Bus!!! :(

Well done, must be happy/relieved its done!

Absolutely, got to a stage where I didn't know what to do, in the end just brute force and determination did it.

My weapons of choice:
