Hello.

Bought a sapera, really pleased with it but tonight have come back to the awning half down. We rolled the porch bit up and pegged down each side with the straps. Are we missing something? Was surprised as the awning itself has been quite stable in these high winds and rain. Nervous about leaving it again.

TIA

Hello there - eek that sounds disturbing. Firstly - did you have the Vango Tension Band system - designed to help when winds are high - series of webbing straps/connectors that "brace" the awning? All theguylines used? Was it the van attachment that collapsed? How is it onto the van - figure of 8 or pole/clamp?

Hi
We think it's a dodgy tension band, 1 wasn't tensioning but have jammed a ball in it and it works fine now. It was pole and clamp but have left 3 times since and all good. Think it was just very high winds and driving rain. That night half the site left as awnings were ripped out, tents leaked etc. think we faired well. Thanks for the reply, appreciated.

Glad its fixed - yep, when the wind howls round a campsite - its all relative :).

Enjoy the rest of your trip!
