hi i am going purchase some ball joint dropped spindles from wagens west as they are a fraction of the price, but they state that a little grinding is required off the backing plate.
Whats this all about how much do you grind off where? I am useless at things like this and if theres some thing to fu*k up you can guarantee ill do it?

cheers

when we fitted mine we just had to very slightly bend the backing plate with a screwy to stop it fouling - no big deal :D

Hi mate

Its a doddle, didnt have to bend the backplate on mine, just grind 2 or 3mm off the bottom ball joint thread as it touched the wheel rim, im running standard 14"s

thanks guys so do you think you need to grind some off when using 15 brms, also as you have grinded the thread do you have any lissues getting any thing on the tread
cheers

Leave the nut on before you grind it.

15 inch wheels should fine, doubt they'll rub on the balljoint.

I didn't have to bend the backing plates out of the way either.
Luck of the draw I guess.
