Hi All,

I know they're really rare, but if anyone knows where I can get one cab door escutcheon for my EB I'd be incredibly grateful!

I have one side already that came with the bus, but it bugs me every time I jump in the bay and see that the other one is missing

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give

Black or chrome? which side?

Chrome ones, sorry, should have mentioned that
It was my understanding that they weren't handed, but if they are I'll check which one we've already got and get back to you

have you tried Just Kampers?

 They're second hand only now, so we're not able to get them in any quantity

Thanks again
Josh

WHATS THE DIFFERANCE ? have some but is there differance between 68/69,69/72 and beetle?

Hi,
Got a couple of chrome escutcheons here (one metal, one plastic).
However they are from my old squareback. The lever is different in the way it mounts to the door but the escutcheon looks exactly the same as for type 1 despite having a different part number, so I'm hazarding a guess (perhaps at my peril) that it's also the same as type 2. I can try one on my bus at the weekend to confirm.

If you pm me your email address I can send you a few more pics.

Seeing as they are apparently quite rare I'd better charge accordingly . . yours for a fiver each if they fit ; )

Forgot to photograph but I do have the black plastic inserts too.
Hope that is kind of helpful . . .

Do you mean these, Josh?

You need single lever ones for a '68 model year.
If you need the black inner plastic bits though, then I'll have two if you find some....

Sorry Sparky, missed your post there!

I spoke to one of my colleagues about them and we're not sure if they're the right ones - they're listed from 67 - 79, but they changed in 73.
Plus they're a bit too shiny, everything else in or on the 'Project Bus' is a little tarnished ;)

Thanks though
Josh

Hi All,

Thanks again to Simon for his help, really appreciated the email and all the photos :)

Here's a few shots of the one we removed from my bay (a bit of a '67 / '68 mash up!) but we have discovered that they were also used on Porches, so that gives us another avenue to search.

Thanks again for all your help so far guys, you've been great :)

The part number on that ^^^ is for a '69 model year on (to '73 I'd guess) the part number for the '68 model year escutcheon is 113 837 239????
